Savinelli Bing's Favorite Rusticated
If you've ever seen Bing Crosby holding a pipe it was usually very similar in shape to this rusticated Billiard. The long stem and elongated shank make for an excellent reading pipe, while still being more handy than a full-length Churchwarden.
Thoughts from the Cottage:
I own several of these glorious pipes. I often reach for a Bing's when I want to enjoy my Virginias or Virginia/Perique blends. In fact, it was a Bing's that first allowed me to appreciate the complexity and taste of Virginia blends. I like the way the rusticated finish feels in hand, and the pipe serves amazingly well when clenched. The more narrow bowl on these pipes allows me to pack flake tobacco in a way that smokes well for me. It's a pipe that hearkens back to mid-twentieth century culture when pipes were dominant. Acrylic stem. 6mm filter.
